According to the report submitted to our office by the Waqf department dated on the 3rd of mârt (1)316 and bearing the number 9, an inspection of the canal of the public fountain (qanât al sabîl) in the Maghrebi quarter (Mahallat al Maghâriba) has shown that the public sewer is leaking into it and is deteriorating the water. After evaluation the expenses needed for unblocking the sewage drain under the mentioned canal and eliminating the damage, we have found that the amount of 1060 piasters darîj al band will be necessary. Since it is imperative and urgent to eliminate this danger to the water of the canal, we have nominated one of us, the honorable Rabâh Effendi Al Dâwûdî with the engineer, the honorable Ibrâhîm Effendi, to conduct the mentioned repairs safely and be precise with the expenses. In order to pay what it needed from the council’s treasury, this decision was taken on the 16th of Mayîs (1)316 (29th of May 1900).
