Concerning the gas and olive oil requested to be presented for the Waqfs from June to August of 1316 (1900)
The requested olive oil and gas have been put on Dutch auction in accordance with the given Dutch auction bills. It has been decided that each kilo of gas be provided for 50 paras by Esseyd Abdülrahman Elamam Effendi and each kilo of olive oil for 4.5 piasters by Hayreddin Naşaşibi Effendi. As a result of investigation, the gas price has been found to be at a moderate level in consideration of the current market value; however, the olive oil prices have been found to be quite exorbitant. Proposal have been made for other possible suitors to come to the council for Dutch auction, but they have replied that they have no such interest. Hence, it is appropriate to negotiate the matter of whether to realize the auction in that manner or purchase it on governmental account and to relegate it to the relevant authority. The 18th of Mayîs (1)316 (1st of June 1900).
