Land cost taken from the carriages, running in the related spot, and cereals in exchange for the cleaning expenses of the square outside: 9,270 piasters
Intestine cost taken in exchange for the slaughterhouse’s rental price: 50,000 piasters
Taxes imposed on stone, lime and coal in exchange for road reparations: 69,000 piasters
From carriages run outside Jerusalem in exchange for road reparations: 90,000 piasters
Entrance tax taken from the Jerusalem-Jaffa macadam in exchange for hospital expenses: 15,000 piasters
As for the above-written taxes, the annual costs of which amount to 388.200 piasters, taken for the benefit of the municipal hospital and other fixed expenses of the municipality, the Jerusalem-Jaffa macadam tax has been taken to the municipal fund in accordance with the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ letter dated 9 July 1888 and numbered 20 and with reference to the approval granted by the Council of Ministers; and other four taxes have been taken to the municipal fund on the basis of the Sanjak Administrative Council’s decisions and on the ground of old customs and conventions. With the re-implementation of the Constitution, townsfolk have begun to object to the taxes in question. A permission has been requested on this issue and these taxes have been avoided to be taken upon the Sanjak Administrative Council’s decision dated 18 August 1908 and numbered 601, leading to an inactivity in municipal affairs and to a postponement of the next year’s budget. It has been considered necessary that the means for removing the said inconveniences be completed; and for issuing a permission for the continuation of the said taxes as stated in the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ telegram dated 28 March 1909, it is appropriate to explain the situation to whom it may concern.
