Since the wooden doors (shutters?), which are on top of parts of the gutters on the road, have decayed to a dangerous degree, it is urgent to replace them. Accordingly it has been decided by the council that this should be done by Shmuel the Jew the carpenter in advance (bi wûdj al amâna), under the supervision of our makramitlu ‘Ali Husayn Effendi and the engineer. In order for the work to start, thirty riyâl majîdi are to be paid. In order to confirm this, this decision was taken on the 4th of Tammûz (1)310 (16th of July 1894).
