The place located outside Jaffa Gate up to the hotel of the municipality is damaged and there are many holes and _____ and circulation on it has become difficult. Therefore the council has decided to repair it under the supervision (bi m‘arifat) of one of us, honorable Yusûf Effendi Nusayba and the engineer honorable Ibrâhîm Effendi, in such a way that the expenses do not exceed 1600 piasters net. In order to start the work and pay in installment what is needed from the council’s treasury, this decision was taken on the 30th of kânûn awal (1)313 (11th of January 1898).
