The council has decided to buy eighty strawmats (hasîra khish), twenty lanterns and twenty jars (zîr) of water needed by the imperial soldiers who have come from Gaza, Jaffa, Nablus ? (al saqâlia?) for the festival of our prophet Moses peace and prayers upon him. For these purchases one of us futûltu (?) Niqûla Effendi ‘Abdu has been appointed. The 24th of Mârt (1)314 (5th of April 1898).
