Scope and content

The dispute between this municipal department and the French school, known as al Salâhiyya school, concerns a dead end road which is located in Bâb Hitta on the northern side. Property and houses on all three sides of the road belong to this school, and it is a private road that only leads to the school property. For all of these reasons, an agreement has been reached with the respectable (rutbitlû) Monsieur George Kîrûbâ, the consul of the great state of France in Jerusalem, in order to build a door for the alleyway. This will be the property of the school, and the council has wavered its rights to it, because it is a private road that leads only to the school property. In return, the consul has pledged to pay a sum of 20 French liras to the municipality’s treasury. In order to remove and block any violations, the council has recommended agreement in the explained manner. Therefore, this decision was issued on the 26th of Shubât (1)324 (11th of March 1909).
