Historique

The small family collection is located in the historical home of the Naqshabandi School of Sufism, which is now the home of Shiekh Abdul Aziz Bukhari in the via Dolorosa. The collection began by sheikh Mohammad Baha al-Din Al-Bukhari who settled in Jerusalem in 1616. It is a special collection dedicated to Sufism. The 200 manuscripts in the collection have been scanned and are available on CD for a fee.

In 2010 Sheikh Aziz passed away unexpectedly at the age of 61. In the aftermath of his death a family feud has broken out and threatens the existence of the library and the museum of Uzbeq Zawiya. It is not known what has happened to the collection of manuscripts, photos, letters and artefacts, which were kept at the museum.
