The Staff Officer Tevfik Effendi, stated to have been sent in the official correspondence, came here; a negotiation was conducted with him on whether the building would be more durable if iron girder was used instead of wood in the said construction; and it was naturally decided that iron girder would be more solid and better. Thereupon, the Dutch auction previously done for wood was cancelled and, under the supervision of Senior Captain Tevfik Effendi a Dutch auction was re-organized for the said iron girder and a sufficient amount of wood. After the completion of bidding, necessary actions were taken. It is appropriate to write in reply that when these timbers are received, they will be delivered to reserve lieutenant Hamid Effendi, appointed by Senior Captain Tevfik Effendi as a proxy; that they shall be transported from Jericho to the shore of the Dead Sea by Salih bin Halil Es-Salih who has given a promise to transport then; and that the bill, also including the receipt showing the cost of these timbers, shall be received and sent. The 5th of Tâmuz (1)310 (17th of July 1894).
