Scope and content

As stated in the report given by the municipal engineer, in the locale belonging to the nun named Mar Yosef, situated on the road going to Seyyidenâ-Akaşa, a foundation was started to be excavated. When the width of the excavated foundation was examined, it was surmised that this was being done to establish a church. In order to enjoin that no unlicensed building can be constructed under any circumstances, it is appropriate to report the matter to the Consulate of the French Republic with an official letter. The 29th of Nîsân (1)315 (11th of May 1899).
