The street outside of Bab Al Sâhira leading from the garden of the family of the late Wirtha and Wahba Effendi Al Budîrî until the land of the Muristân is not wide enough. In order to make a road of it, it is imperative to increase its width to five meters. The map given by the municipal engineer has revealed that the space needed for the widening cannot be taken from all of the land owners along the mentioned street. According to the article of the building code, it has been decided to take the necessary (space) from any of the plots of land there. So whoever does not give up anything will pay half of the space taken from the land close to him, according to a price per square ell (dhrâ‘) of three francs for the land of the late Wirtha and Wahba Effendi. For the land of Sidqî Effendi Al Husaynî two francs and a half and for the other land two francs. A contract was drawn up with the house and property owners on the two sides of the street. When this street is finished according to the description, it will be repaired and turned into a shûr (?) at the expense of the municipality’s treasury. In order for this to be approved, this decision was taken on the 25th of Kânûn Awwal (1)322 (7th of January 1907).
