Upon the Kaymakamlık of Jaffa’s letter, dated 8 March 1910 and numbered 421, regarding the macadam tax taken from the people of Ayun Kara
This letter and the attached petition has been examined. Even though one-third of the tax taken from carriages and draught animals going from Jerusalem to Jaffa is taken from those going from the said place to Jaffa, such a degree of tax leads to an unjust treatment, since the said place is close to Jaffa. Therefore, it is appropriate to notify in reply that the said tax be henceforth taken by a one-fourth ratio and that the specifications of the Dutch auction bill be thus modified. The 13th of Mârt (1)326 (26th of March 1910).
