Upon the Gendarme Commandership’s marginal note dated 10 March 1909 and numbered 57, regarding the purchase of 200 pieces of mat necessary the jai for prisoners and detainees. It has been understood by our council that the requested amount of mat is not currently available in Jerusalem, that it would be expensive to obtain them all, and that the said mats could be purchased by the Jaffa municipality from the Yahudiye village of Jaffa for a more appropriate price. The 28th of Shubât (1)324 (13th of March 1909).
