As presented by our council in two letters dated 28 February and 8 March 1905, since the costs of the butchers’ tax and the livestock sale tax of the centre of Jerusalem, commonly owned by the Goods’ Fund and the Municipal Fund, have not reached their previous amounts, their tenders have been postponed. On occasion of the new year, an official has to be temporarily appointed for the collection of the said taxes until the Sanjak Administrative Council’s decision with respect to the tender or governmental administration of these taxes. It has been considered appropriate to appoint Tevfik Murad Effendi to take a daily livestock sale tax of a half mejidie; and Yusuf Al Şeref Effendi to take a daily butcher tax of 5 piasters. With respect to the appointment of these people or two other suitable people, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the Sanjak Administrative Council.
