Ignatiev; report; an investigation is lead to find out what caused the panic in Jerusalem; three Catholics and one Orthodox are accused of spreading rumours; after the investigation, one of the defendant attempts suicide saying he's afraid of Turks; after the incident and the Franciscans' protest, the investigation becomes very moderate and calms down; the governor could be dismissed because of the panic; social climate (Russian date 1876-06-02).
