We announce to all shop owners that the height of a flap installed over the doors of their shops shouldn’t be less than four arms in length over each road, taking into consideration the highest shop door on the street, while its width should be one arm. Shop flaps in other streets should be fixed in a plane angle according to a downward slope. Those in the Christian quarter should have the same height and width. The flap of any shop that violates these conditions will be demolished. In order for this to be known, it has been published on the 5th of Tishrîn Thânî (1)314 (17th of November 1898).
