It has been decided on the council level to buy the water cistern owned by His Honor al-Shamandrît Aftîmûy?? (Aftimo? ) in al-Sarâfiyyah garden on the carriage road for [the amount] of forty five golden French liras to be paid in advance. [This water cistern] is to be used for sprinkling the carriage road. In order for this to be approved, this decision was taken on the 6th of Mâyis (1)3015 (17th of May 1899).
