The old city has been cleaned during five days from the 10th of the month of Mart (1)314 until the 14th of that month, under the coordination of Jiryis Abû Sam’ân and (this has been done) in advance of payment. After inspection it has been found that the amount of 700 piasters has been spent in installments. In order for this to be paid from the municipality’s treasury and (in order for it?) to be withdrawn from the tax farmer with the mentioned directive – 1400 piasters in installments are to go to Hanna Sûwân for having paid the period of 13 days in the mentioned month, from the first of the month of Mart (1)314 until the 9th of it and from the 15th until the 18th of it. Accordingly this decision was taken on the 31st of Mârt (1)314 (12th of April 1898). .
