It has become clear that Ibrâhîm Effendi, one of the council’s auxiliary officers (jâwîsh), in charge of taking rent from the stores owned by Muslims and Christians, is unable to collect this rent from the mentioned millets, and so he has stopped doing it. Therefore it has been decided by the council to appoint Kârnû Effendi Abû Sûwân, whose guarantor (kâfîl) is Dawûd Ibrâhîm Khudûr, from the village of Ramallah, of Latin confession.
The mentioned guarantor gives permission to our (elders’) council to sell his house in the mentioned village if the person he lends his guarantee to incurs any fault regarding his tax-farming of the mentioned homes. Accordingly, this decision was taken on the 26th of Aylûl (1)310 (8th of October 1894).
