Necessary means were implemented to exterminate the pestilent grasshopper in Jericho, before it reproduced further, and based on previous experiences, it has been understood that this would be possible only by using gas. Although fifty containers of gas have been obtained by our council up to now, it is obvious that there will be a need for much more. As it will not be possible for this gas to be provided for completely by our council, it is appropriate to gain permission to collect gas containers from the population of the villages which have not actively participated in the extermination of grasshoppers. The 7th of Mârt (1)308 (19th of March 1892).
