About the people, working for the Palestine Society and kept by the Turkish authorities as war prisoners; the money received for them from the Society. They were sent to Damask; now there is a plan to send them to Urfu; the hard conditions of life there. About the Russian buildings - they are partly occupied by the locals. In Elisabeth compound some Russian pilgrims are living, as well as the nuns from Ain-Karem. Some are turned into Turkish casernas. The question of salaries for the teachers and other employees of the Society.
