The letter of French Ambassador Count Dofestlot who demands issueing of an imperial firman addressing to the kadı of Jerusalem and governor of Damascus to not to oppose completion and termination of the operation regarding the urgent renovation and reparation of several places and walls, which are about to collapse, of the monastery of French Priests situated in Jerusalem and to which permission document was given by legal authorities. Contrary to the privileges that Greek community profited since old times, permissions given to Armenian community for Merkad-i Isa Church and the location called Cebel-i Zeyd which was allocated for the ceremonies of communities of Greek, Armenian and Catholic, was seized by Armenians in this regard attracting attention of Babıali and Damascus Governor Hulusi Paşa and translation of confidential instructions for its detailed explanation.
