The six fire engines have arrived in Jaffa. In order to pick them up in accordance with the agreement [signed] with the German khawâjah Artûr Ilandar, it has been decided by the council to compensate one of us, Shlomo Effendi and to pay him sixty five golden French Liras and fourteen franks; [which is the amount] which still needs to be paid to the mentioned khawâjah. Accordingly, Artûr would be paid only if the fire engines [arrive] undamaged and in accordance with the conditions of the mentioned agreement [repetition in the text]. And in order to compensate Shlomo Effendi and to pay him thirty piasters daily for a three-day-period from the treasury of the municipality and on the account of the fire engines, this decision was taken on the 6th of Nisân (1)311 (18th of April 1895).
