Since some improvements and repairs have to be conducted urgently at the municipal garden,[the municipal] engineer was asked to inspect the garden. And now he has presented a report asking for 4103 piasters. However, it has been found that the report included unnecessary things. Therefore, it has been decided [by the council] to spend one thousand piasters for repairs needed that amount to 1023 piasters as clarified above. This amount will be spent by proxy with the knowledge of one of the members, al-Hâj Husayn Effendi, [the municipal] engineer and the officer of (al-najshah)?? Jawhariyyah Effendi and to present a log of expenses on which a second inspection will be realized. So, it was found to be necessary to record this on the 21st of Kanûn Awwal (1)311 (2nd of January 1896).
