In the alleys leading to the English hospital in the Armenian Quarter (mahalat al-'Arman) : 1
The council has found it urgent to install street lamps in the areas set forth above. Accordingly, the council has decided to hang them up in the beginning of Mârt (1)311. [By installing these street lamps], the number of lamps [in the city] will total one hundred and eighty two. In order to pay for [the expenses of lighting] these lamps on a monthly basis, this decision was taken on the 20th of Mârt (1)311 (1st of April 1895).
