Scope and content
The Mail and Telegraph Directorate prescribed that the drivers of horse carriages transmiting mails from Jerusalem to Jaffa and from Jaffa to Jerusalem shall not give any road tax. In accordance with this order, it was told by the multazim that the even these drivers transferring the Austrian mails shall not give the road tax. However, as this mail is transmitted on lump sum basis, not giving road tax is impermissible. Therefore, it is appropriate to notify, through a letter embodying the sublime rescript of the Mutasarrifate, that the Mail and Telegraph Directorate shall not intervene in this matter. Undated.
