Upon the letter given by the Jerusalem Area Commandership on 25 July 1901
The specified place was inspected and it has been understood from the above-written annotation by the municipal engineer that the said excavation is done eight meters away from the city walls and by the inheritors of Sheikh Aşira. Since it has been under understood that this excavation is done for the purpose of finding relics, this necessitates, in the first place, obtainment of a license from the office of Education; thus, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the municipal police force and the office of Education in order to take necessary action in respect thereof. The 17th of Tammûz (1)317 (30th of July 1901).
