Archbihsop Sargis Jalalyan writes about his hard trip to Zmyrnia. He praises the love for education and other virtues of the locals. Mentions about having met with brother-in-law and other people. Mentions that his visit was successful. At the end, highlights the daily development of the Armenian patriarchate of Jerusalem and the weakening of the Etchmiadzin catholicosate, expressing his worries that the attention of Armenians will then completely be drawn to Jerusalem.

Archbishop Sargis Jalalyan writes that before his arrival in Constantinople an appeal had been made to the Supreme Porte with a request to take action against the wrongdoings of the Latin church. The government had accepted the request and had the ceiling of the temple repaired and granted a license to hang the Armenian and Greek pictures according to the old custom.
