al-Khatib Library (KL)
A private Islamic law library of the Khatib family containing 170 manuscripts. The library was accumulated when the family functioned as judges - mostly on Islamic Law. Sheikh Burhan Eddin ibn Jama’ made the library a religious endowment, a waqf, in 1850. The manuscripts have been restored and the family guards the collection very carefully.
