Scope and content
Upon the petition given on 9 May 1904 by some of the resident of Türbe-i Maaşallah neighborhood
The road referred to in this petition has been inspected and it has been understood from the hereby presented inspection register given by the municipal engineer that this road extends from the old coffeehouse belonging to the municipality to Bürke-i Maaşallah and from there to madrasa named Raytizbon (?), that it is 1,538 zirâ in length and that there is a need for 41,783 piasters in order to transform it into a macadam. It is understood from this petition that the road in question is indeed in a dilapidated situation, leading to problems for traffic in winter days; that, due to the fact that this location has taken the form of a neighborhood, the high number of people living here and the low amount of money reserved in the budget for road reparation, it will not be possible to repair current roads and more important macadams under these conditions. It is thus ratified that the cost necessary for the reparation of the said road be covered by the owners of the real estates around the road. Therefore, for taking due actions in respect thereof, and, when the time for reparation comes, initiation of the work by the municipality in accordance with the hereby presented inspection register and map, the said approximate amount of 40,000 piasters must be properly apportioned to the neighboring real estate owners. It is appropriate to relegate the matter to our council so as to appoint one of our council members for this task. The 9th of Huzayrân (1)320 (22nd of June 1904).
