The flow of water from the pools to Jerusalem has decreased, and because the rain has been late and poor people are in need of drinking water, deliberations have been carried out, and it was decided to transfer part of the water of (the source of) Artas to the (Solomon’s) pools’ path. Accordingly, it has been decided to install the pump on Artâs village water and pump it to the canal of the pools until rainfall. For this, one of us, Hâj Ibrâhîm Effendi, one of the engineers and the mechanic were assigned to the task. Hâj Ibrâhîm Effendi will be paid 50 piasters per day, and the municipal inspector will be paid 8 piasters according to the official currency, while the engineer and the rest of the workers will be paid the necessary fees from the municipality’s treasury.
