The documents sent by the communities of the Ottoman Empire are either in "ancient Hebrew" (pre-modern Hebrew) or "Ladino". There are sometimes letters in French. Only between 10% and 20% of the archives would be written in "Ladino".

The oldest documents are pinkasim from 1750 and 1759, difficult to understand, very damaged in 1948. Many are uncommunicable (circa 1850). There is a gap between 1820 and 1830. There are gaps, the community almost disappeared. After that, for the period 1890-1920 which represents many documents of which a part is a little damaged.

The writings represented are mainly the "half-calamus" or handwritten Sephardic rabbinic script (documents in "ancient" Hebrew = rabbinic and/or in "ladino" = Judeo-Spanish) and the writing called "letras de karta" or "solitreo" in the correspondence in Judeo-Spanish. Much of these documents have been transcribed according to the modern Hebrew ms alphabet.

This inventory includes the transcription (into Arabic and Turkish) and translation into English of the 18 volumes of reports (55% in Ottoman Turkish, 45% in Arabic) from the Ottoman municipality of Jerusalem between 1892 and 1917.

The tax in question was put in auction and efforts were made to create demand through effective incentives; however, there was no suitor who bid more than the ascertained price. When the reasons of this situation were examined, it was understood that it resulted from the fact that the number of visitors and also the number of animals brought to the city last year and this year were less than ever. As there would be revenue loss if the aforementioned tax was collected not through tender but on government account, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the Sanjak Administrative Council to have a declaration on what to do about the issue. Necessary means were implemented to exterminate the pestilent grasshopper in Jericho, before it reproduced further, and based on previous experiences, it has been understood that this would be possible only by using gas. Although fifty containers of gas have been obtained by our council up to now, it is obvious that there will be a need for much more. As it will not be possible for this gas to be provided for completely by our council, it is appropriate to gain permission to collect gas containers from the population of the villages which have not actively participated in the extermination of grasshoppers. تنسب مجلسيا بتعيين أحدنا رفعتلو محمد عبد الوهاب أفندي الخالدي ورفعتلو طاهر أفندي ، لأجل مناظرة إصلاح وتعمير الشوسه المباشر بعملها من قهوة البلدية الى الخسته خانة العائدة للبلدية . وصرف ما يلزم لذلك من صندوق البلدية بموجب الدفاتر التي سيصير تقديمها من طرف الموصى إليهما . وتصديقا على ذلك صار إعطاء هذا القرار في 7 مارت 308 .

نعلن أن أرزاق العساكر الشاهانية الموجودة في الزور مطروحة لموقع المناقصة لمدة سنة. إعتبارا من إبتداء مارت 308 بموجب الشرائط المحفوظة بالمجلس . فكل من له رغبة بالمناقصة يراجع المجلس. وستبقى هذه المناقصة مدة يومين إعتبارا من تاريخه . ولأجل يكون معلوم صار نشر الكيفية في 7 مارت 308 .
