The Imperial Council of Legal Affairs (Meclis-i Vala-yı Ahkam-ı Adliye ) was founded as the assembly of reforms in 1838 after the Supreme Council and the Consultation Assembly (Meclis-i Meşveret) lost their functions and charged with conducting the Tanzimat’s reforms and innovations. This series includes documents related to the correspondences of the assembly and to the decision made by the assembly. In it, there are a lot of documents regarding any sort of change in the state institutions in the Tanzimat Era and de novo organisation of the state. Moreover, the application of the reforms and the difficulties that were faced could be monitored easily from these documents.
