Yesterday, on Friday, we were informed that the Latins are illegally building a wall around a public recreation spot, which is located outside Jerusalem, on the road which leads to Mount Sinai and close to the Latin gardens. The construction has been terminated and the construction workers who are working without any permit have been punished. The recreation spot and the road is public, and no one from any nation is permitted to claim a right on this spot. Thus, the French Consulate should be informed by the governor of Sanjak that the wall which has been constructed illegally by the Latins should demolished and returned to its previous condition. The 18th of Kânûn Thânî (1)312 (30th of January 1897).

The abovementioned locations have deteriorated and are dangerous to public. Their owners have been warned to renovate these property however none has taken any measures on this matter. Thus, according to the 48th article of the Building Regulation, our member Yusuf Nesibe Effendi (?) and engineer İbrahim Effendi, who are appointed, together with an official appointed by the mukhtars and municipality police, will prepare a report for the demolishing of these property. Thus, the municipality police should be contacted to appoint an official from the municipality police. The 15th of Kânûn Thânî (1)312 (27th of January 1897).
