The Imperial Council of Legal Affairs (Meclis-i Vala-yı Ahkam-ı Adliye ) was founded as the assembly of reforms in 1838 after the Supreme Council and the Consultation Assembly (Meclis-i Meşveret) lost their functions and charged with conducting the Tanzimat’s reforms and innovations.
