Warning about counterfeit money in village, 15 January 1898 (Gregorian date) - 3 Kanûn Thânî 1313 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

We announce to the public that the tax collector (?) (qabdmâl) of the village Jânt (?) belonging to the qadâ’ of Salwari (?) found counterfeit riyâl majîdi among the amount of money that he obtained (qabad). When it was checked at the imperial monetary administration (?) (idârat al maskûkât al shâhânia) it was found that its weight was five drâhim and fourteen qîrât, which means that its weight was one dirham and ten qîrât less that its legal weight, and it was fashioned by copying (?). It has been observed that these majîdiyat have entered (the market) in order to be exchanged (?), so it is necessary to exercise precision and to look carefully (?). If you obtain any of them, alert the government about it. In order for this to be known, these directions were published on the 3rd of Kânûn thâni (1)313 (15th of January 1898).

Warning about counterfeit money from Tripoli (Libya), 3 February 1898 (Gregorian date) - 22 Kanûn Thânî 1313 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

We announce to the public that among the money sent from the province of Tripoli (Tarâblus al gharb) to Istanbul one and half French lira and three riyalât majîdi of counterfeit money. They are false copies. Careful analysis is needed when treating with this money. In order for all to be careful and precise in
order not to accept this money, these directions were sent on the 22nd of kânûn thâni (1)313 (3rd of February 1898).

Warning about counterfeit money ?, 21 May 1895 (Gregorian calendar) - 9 Mayîs 1311 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

It has been announced to all traders of banks and residents of Jerusalem that we have heard that some are reluctant to use all Ottoman money with its decided pricing without addition or omission, and instead they lower their prices. So be aware of disobeying. In order for this to be known, these directions were announced on the 9th of Mâyis (1)311 (21st of May 1895).

Warning about copper coins , 18 June 1904 (Gregorian calendar) - 5 Huzayrân 1320 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

It has been understood from some citizens (ahâli) that some industrial copper coins are being exchanged, mostly by Jews because of their poverty. Since this is completely prohibited, (it should be known) that whoever dares to disobey makes himself subject to punishment. So be careful not to disobey. In order for this to be known, these directions were published on the 5th of Huzayrân (1)320 (18th of June 1904).

Warning about a wall about to collapse, 17 June 1901 (Gregorian calendar) - 4 Huzayrân 1317 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

In the letter given by municipal engineers on 12 June 1901, it was previously declared that the wall of a house, situated the city walls, near the Harem-i Şerif, and owned by Hacı Mahmud Effendi and Şeyh Şahad Abu al Suûd Effendi, is about to collapse on the road-side and that it poses a threat to passerby. Hence, in accordance with the 48. article of the Public Buildings Regulation in effect as regards this matter, they were warned on 12 June 1901 that two days would be given to them for removing the danger. Although this period has terminated, nothing has changed. Since it is absolutely mandatory to recover this loss, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the municipal police force to take necessary action in respect thereof as stated in the article of the relevant regulation by way of demolishing this dangerous household through the mandate of a committee composed of municipal engineers, muhtar of the neighborhood and an official from the municipal police force, and by way of covering the demolition expenses from the wreckage. Warning about a room about to collapse, 25 June 1901 (Gregorian calendar) - 12 Huzayrân 1317 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

In the petition presented by Arif Naşaşibi Effendi, it was stated that the roof a shop, located in the Bab-al-Amûd neighborhood, and owned by a Jew named Hovave Azra Davud Kukya (?) from the subjects of the Russian state, is in a dilapidated situation and so the room above this shop, in which resides the disabled child of the deceased Musa Naşaşibi Effendi and whose guardian is the petitioner, is also about to collapse, posing a threat to passerby. Hereupon the said place was inspected and it was understood that it posed a real threat to passerby and that the inconvenience in question must be immediately removed. In accordance with the 48. Article of the Public Buildings Regulation, a warning has been issued to the said guardian for either the demolition or reparation of the said place within eight days as of notification. A warning written in the name of Russian Hovace Azra (?) has also been hereby presented and it is appropriate to obtain a second signed copy of it from him and to notify it to the Russian Consulate. The 12th of Huzayrân (1)317 (25h of June 1901).

Warning about a lack of payment relegated to the French Consulate, 14 March 1899 (Gregorian calendar) - 2 Mârt 1315 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

The Banque de Credit Lyonnais has to pay a monthly sum of 25 piasters on account of the loan received to cover the cleaning, lighting and watchman costs of the town. However, there seems to be some hesitation in the payment of the 150 piasters deserved from the beginning of 1314 (1898-1899) until the end of the year. In order to warn that this payment be paid to the municipal fund, it is appropriate to notify the Consulate of the French Republic. The 2nd of Mârt (1)315 (14th of March 1899).

Warning about a house about to collapse, 27 July 1901 (Gregorian calendar) - 14 Tammûz 1317 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

Since the house, located in the vicinity of Bab-al-Magaribe within the city and owned by Abu Al Avdzâde (?) Effendi and Hac Muhammed Taceddin Effendi, is about to collapse, the current danger must be removed in line with the 48. article of the Public Buildings Regulation in effect as regards this matter. Even though a reminder was issued, necessary action were not taken; the dangerous parts of the said house were thus demolished in accordance with the provisions of the article of the specified regulation and 1,731 piasters were spent at the rate of dâric-i bender. Although an attempt was made to sell the current wreckage, no one had any interest in it since the wreckage is not usable; therefore, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the municipal police force for the collection of demolition expenses from the house owners and its payment to our council’s fund. The 14th of Tammûz (1)317 (27th of July 1901).
