Request to warn the hospital officials about their duties, 11 April 1892 (Gregorian calendar) - 30 Mârt 1308 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

The said hospital has been urgently established and put into service towards the purpose of constructing a hospital for Muslim men and women in the city of Jerusalem, just like for other communities. Since it had not been possible to find a more convenient place for the hospital within the district, the hospital in question has been constructed in its current location. As presented and explained before, three to four days per week have been reserved in this hospital, in case of need, for those with minor illnesses, as is the case in other hospitals. However, since the hospital is located in a distant place, it has been seen that Muslim women and powerless people experienced hardship in reaching there. Therefore, in order to provide the essential requirements and for patients' comfort, a pharmacy has been opened within the city, as a unit affiliated with the hospital. Based on a one-year experience, it has been seen that few inhabitants of Jerusalem have gone to the hospital until now and that the majority of those recorded in the hospital are from the surrounding villages. It is apparent that it would be possible to derive the expected benefit from this hospital if the pharmacy in question were closed down. Although this pharmacy should be managed by the doctors of the hospital, the task is fulfilled by the municipality's doctor as the number of doctors there is not sufficient. The management of the hospital is under the responsibility of the municipal council. The hospital officials do not have the right to intervene in the affairs in that way. Since this intervention is also contrary to the regulations prepared by our municipal council, henceforth it is, under any circumstances, up to the sublime rescript of the Jerusalem Governorship to warn the hospital officials to give close attention to their essential duties. The 30th of Mârt (1)308 (11th of April 1892).

The 30th of Mârt (1)308 (11th of April 1892).

Decision to appoint a new clerk, 12 April 1892 (Gregorian calendar) - 31 Mârt 1308 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

It has been understood that the accounting affairs of the hospital would remain in a messy situation if the requested clerk is not appointed. On the other hand, on the decision by the Sanjak Administrative Council dated 9 March 1891, it was stipulated that the duty of clerkship be fulfilled by the directorate. Therefore, it is necessary to appoint a clerk by reserving 150 piasters from the 500 piasters of salary reserved for the directorate and to notify our council in the event that the director disapproves the appointment of this clerk. The sublime rescript of the mutasarrıf necessitates a written response about the matter. The 31st of Mârt (1)308 (12th of April 1892).
