The Royal Decree of November 17, 1871 establishes the Italian Consulate in Palestine.
The papers - repatriated partially organized in categories (called ‘Posizioni’ in this archive) - attest:
- Dealing of political affairs (conflicts between the religious communities; relations with clergy and the other religious communities; relations with the Ethiopian community)
- Relations with the administron and contacts with other Consulates
- Assistance provided to Italians (protection of nationals and legal aid)
- Staff and employee administration (internal organization and regulations)
