Religioso della provincia minoritica americana del Santo Nome dal 1896, padre Paschal Robinson (1870-1948), prima di essere designato titolare della nuova nunziatura apostolica in Irlanda (1929-1948) svolse un'intensa attività diplomatica per conto della Santa Sede, in particolare per la Segreteria di Stato e le congregazioni per la Chiesa orientale e di Propaganda Fide, delle quali fu anche consultore. Dopo la sua morte, mons. Domenico Tardini, allora segretario per la Congregazione degli affari ecclesiastici straordinari, dispose che le carte relative alle sue missioni come visitatore apostolico in Palestina e come delegato apostolico in Malta fossero conservate. Esse vennero poi versate nell'ASV. Le sei buste si riferiscono soprattutto alle diverse visite apostoliche in Palestina affidate a p. Robinson dalla Congregazione per la Chiesa orientale (1925-1928) e dalla Congregazione di Propaganda Fide (1920-1921; 1927-1928).
Il fondo dell'Archivio abbraccia un periodo che va all'incirca dal 1839 al 1935, ma con carte più antiche. La maggior parte degli archivi delle rappresentanze pontificie iniziarono a pervenire in Vaticano a partire dalla prima metà degli anni '70. Al momento del suo ordinamento, il fondo è stato diviso in “Archivio Antico”; “Archivio mons. Cassulo” e “Archivio mons. Valeri-Mazzoli-Bartoloni-Dini”. L'archivio mons. Valeri-Mazzoli-Bartoloni-Dini è composto di 101 fascicoli.
Mons. Testa prende in consegna l'archivio della Delegazione apostolica al suo ingresso in Gerusalemme, il 18 giugno 1948.[1] L'archivio è composto da 38 buste riguardanti l'amministrazione dei Delegati apostolici Gustavo Testa, Arthur Hughes, Silvio Oddi e Giuseppe Sensi. La documentazione parte dall'anno 1935 e giunge all'anno 1962. Un titolario ben organizzato è presente per i periodi di Testa,[2] Oddi e Sensi. Il materiale è parzialmente aperto per il periodo della prima gestione di Gustavo Testa, mentre a partire dal periodo della reggenza di Hughes è chiuso.

Hughes aveva chiuso la documentazione per salvarla dalla guerra palestinese, non erano presenti le carte riguardanti la gestione di mons. This collection includes correspondence received from the US Consulate General in Jerusalem. The 9 selected and described volumes (registers) includes dispatches sent from Jerusalem to Washington DC between 1856 and 1906. A microfilm copy of these registers have been made in 1969 and constitutes the unit number M.453 (5 rolls). After 1906, the letters received by Washington from US embassies and consulates have been organized by themes (trade, war, customs) and no longer by origin.
This fonds includes documents divided according to their subjects. The divisions in the catalogue concern the navy, the interior, defter-i hakani, education, treasury, telegraph, commerce and various Ottoman provinces and so on. The starting and ending Hijri dates for this fonds are: 1285-1341.
The Imperial Rescript means the order of the sultan. Formerly, the term “the Firmans” was used for the orders of the sultan. From 1832 on, the writing that was offered in response to the “letters” presented to the clerk of the sultan and that meant the approval of the sultan was called ‘irade’. The Imperial Rescripts in file procedure were grouped according to the issues and subjects in them, not according to the ministries and offices to which they belonged.
This catalogue includes the majority of the archive materials of the Ministry of Police; correspondence from other ministries, state offices and provinces; the Correspondence Office, which includes the replies to these writings and letters, and the drafts from the Accounting Office; receipts for the transactions of the Office of Public Accounting and the bills returned. The starting and ending Hijri dates for this fonds are: 1262-1341.
This fonds constitutes a very rich collection of documents resulting from the assortment of documents belonging to the rule of Sultan Abdülhamid II (1876-1909). It includes 1618 files, 626000 documents and 15679 notebooks. It appears that it includes important documents for this period, which is a fresh field for the research in the history of management. Yıldız catalogues (series) are collected in five main groups; the Main Documents of Yıldız Palace (Yıldız Esas Evrakı), the Official Documents of Grand Vizierate (Sadâret Resmî Maruzât Evrakı), the Officially Presented Documents of Grand Vizierate (Sadâret Husûsî Maruzât Evrakı) and the Daily Documents of Yıldız Palace (Yıldız Perakende Evrakı).
This fonds includes documents like petitions or letters written to the Inspectorship between 1900-1909 (Hijri dates: 1318-1327). These petitions usually dealt with requests for promotion and appointment, salary, gang and bandit activities, demands for tax, complaints about administrative corruption, etc. The starting and ending Hijri dates for this fonds are: 1318-1329.
