About delivery of sheets comprising of some questions regarding current hospitals, 7 November 1898 (Gregorian calendar) - 26 Tishrîn Awwal 1314 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

In the telegram sent on 3 October 1898 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it has been urgently requested that the sheet comprising of some questions regarding current hospitals be filled in and immediately delivered due to the urgency of the task at hand. Since the sheets requested from the kazas of Jaffa and Gaza have not been delivered yet, it is thus appropriate to notify the kaymakamlıks of these two kazas via a decree about their immediate delivery. About demolition of Abu Sa’ud family’s house: municiplaity’s expenses not yet reimbursed by family, 1 August 1901 (Gregorian calendar) - 19 Tammûz 1317 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

Since the house of Hâj Muhammad Tâj al Ddîn Effendi, Abû Su‘ûd and his relatives, located next to the Magharibah gate, is about to fall, a decision was taken on the 4th of Huzayrân (1)317 to demolish the house in question, and pay a sum of 1731 piasters in installments for its demolition. According to the two decisions taken on the 26th of Huzayrân (1)317 and the 2nd of Tammûz of the same year, of the stated sum a total of 902.5 piasters has been paid from the council’s treasury. Another decision was taken on the 14th of Tammûz in order to collect all mentioned expenses from the recommended person and his relatives; the matter has been referred to the officer for collection of the money. Since collections haven not been possible so far, and the workers haven’t been paid, the council has decided to pay the remainder of the expenses, which is a total of 828 piasters and 30 para from the council’s treasury, to be compensated later on. This decision was taken on the 19th of Tammûz (1)317 (1st of August 1901).

About doctor’s report concerning those who practice medicine or pharmacy without permit, 15 August 1895 (Gregorian calendar) - 3 Agustos 1311 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

Ban of doctors and pharmacists who do not hold diplomas from School of Medicine: The decree issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on 19 November 1888 (5 Teşrîn-i sâni 1304) orders that those doctors and pharmacists who do not hold diplomas from School of Medicine are to be banned from their profession. It is understood from this report that the above-mentioned people, although they do no hold a diploma authorized by the School of Medicine, continue to practice medicine. Thus, for the expulsion of those who are subjects of foreign countries, it is appropriate to write a notice to the consulates of the countries of which they are citizens; and for the expulsion of the Ottoman subjects, it is appropriate to send the municipality police. About doctors biographies, 28 June 1898 (Gregorian calendar) - 16 Huzayrân 1314 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

The matter of the notification of the workplaces of doctors not having a certificate taken from Beirut American and Jesuit schools, and of the dispatch of their biographies, was specified in the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ decree dated 25 April 1898 and numbered 17, which was later publicly announced to kazas. However, as the Jaffa Municipal doctor’s biography has not been sent yet, it is appropriate to re-notify the Kaymakamlık of Jaffa that it must be immediately sent. The 16th of Huzayrân (1)314 (28th of June 1898).

About documents announcement, 12 February 1907 (Gregorian calendar) - 30 Kânûn Thânî 1322 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

As a few announcement documents have been arranged and posted by the municipality, it is appropriate to order those concerned to publish the matter also in the Official Gazette provided that it is deemed suitable by the mutasarrifate. The 30th of Kânûn Thânî (1)322 (12th of February 1907).

About dumpsite removal, 28 June 1898 (Gregorian calendar) - 16 Huzayrân 1314 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

It has been understood that the removal of the said dumpsite requires 200 piasters. As regards collecting this money from Abdurrahman Câûni (?) Effendi, a trustee of the Cevâga (?) Waqf and taking necessary action in respect thereof, it is appropriate to issue an order to the Waqfs Accounting and the municipal police force. The 16th of Huzayrân (1)314 (28th of June 1898).

About employment of skilled workers and their wages, 25 April 1895 (Gregorian calendar) - 13 Nîsân 1311 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

In the above-written marginal note, the specified wage of an ordinary worker 4.5 piasters. It was learnt from the said supervisor that skilled workers would be employed in the said business. It was understood from the investigation that the wage of a skilled worker is 6 piasters as respected current akçe. The 13th of Nisân (1)311 (25th of April 1895).

About end of project (?) Hotel Dayr Al Rum (orthodox convent), 29 June 1895 (Gregorian calendar) - 17 Huzayrân 1311 (Ottoman fiscal calendar (Rumi)

In this respect, the exploration of the mentioned hotel has been undertaken based on the notice that was send to the governor of the Sanjak by Jerusalem Commandant numbered 44 and referred to the municipal council on 15 June 1311 (27 June 1895). According to the exploration, it has been determined that the surface of the building is 8.25m lower than the castle fire line. Following the rules, an official notice has been sent to Greek Patriarchate at 2am in the morning to halt the building construction. Although a municipality inspector has been sent this morning, it has been observed that a guard from Ottoman soldiers has been sent by the Artillery Sergeant to halt the building construction and deportation of wood necessary for the construction. Thus, further intervention by the municipal council is not necessary. The 17th of Huzayrân (1)313 (29th of June 1895).
