Copy of Memorandum in French by the Ministry of Foreign Office to the Embassy of Austria and to the legation of Italy. During the Holiday of Christmas the flag of Jerusalem was blown on the clocher of the Catholic church in the town of Sunne (Soulina, nowadays in Rumania). This fact is against the rules and the traditions established in the Ottoman Empire.

An address concerning the protection of the rights of the Christians and the Jews in the eyalet of Sham is sent to the Police officials in Quds and Gazza. On 10 Djemaziulevvel the Patriarchs of the three nationalities (milel) and the Khakham bashi were received in the Sublime Porte and acquainted with the Sultan orders on the same matter.

It concerns the circumstances of the construction of Protestant church in Quds-i sherif.

The documents in Ottoman-Turkish and Arabic kept in the “Cyril and Methodius” National Library contain valuable material for the study of the social, economic, political and cultural development of the Arab countries from the XVIth to the XXth century.
These documents offer a rich material for studies in the field of the Arabic and the Ottoman-Turkish diplomatics and paleography, language research, as well as for special regional and town studies.

It reflects the quantity of the taxes (vergu) and military incomes (bedelat-i askeriye) revenues in the sanjaq of Quds for the month of Teshrin-i evvel 1297 (October 1881). The total amount is 392 698 gurush and 27 pare.
