It should be noted that the Poor Clares are a cloistered and not an apostolic order, so the monastery's interactions with the world are limited. The community has never maintained a school or dispensary: the monastery's archives reflect this life of enclosure.

Poor Clares of Jerusalem (PCJ)

Charles de Foucauld.

  • 5 envelopes, 4 of which have liturgical patterns drawn by Charles de Foucauld.
All these patterns are stamped and numbered for a sacred art exhibition in the 1940s. It is not known if the models represented were actually made, but in any case, they are not kept in the sacristy. Some bosses have needle and pin holes on them, suggesting that they have been made.
  • Drawings by Charles de Foucauld and miniatures embedded in black cardboard; drawings of the buildings.
All these elements have been fully photocopied by the sisters.
  • Practice cards distributed to the sisters.
  • 2 notebooks: a notebook dedicated to the mother abbess; a transcription of the life of a saint.

Charles de Foucauld (photographed by Maria Chiara) stayed at St. Clare's Monastery for 6 months (longest period) and came 4 times in total from Nazareth.

Community life.

These "large notebooks" correspond to registers for transcribing documents considered to be the most important in the community, transcribing chronological organized correspondence, accompanied by an index.

  • Linen of Sister Mary of the Trinity.
