There has been a conflict between Latin and the Orthodox denominations over the wall, which is located on the road opposite the al-Jismâniya land of the Latins. The higher district council has recommended to build a wall on that road, the expenses of which to be paid by the municipality. After inspections it appeared that a sum of 500 piasters is needed. In order to pay the money from the municipality’s treasury, this announcement was published on the 18th of Mârt (1)313 (30th of March 1897).
