Annotation upon the petition given by the people of Velce village
With water transferred by railroad company from the spring, located in Velce village and known as Hanya, to Jerusalem, vegetables will sustain a damage. In the decision given by the Sanjak Administrative Council on 23 May 1901, it is stated that, in exchange for these damages, it has been considered appropriate to take 2.06 piasters at a rate of 20 piasters for silver Mejidie from the contractor for each cubic meter of water and to give it to vegetable owners. Therefore, 10,000 piasters has been taken from the water sale contractor as a deposit and retained in the municipality fund. The bill given by the office of Jerusalem railroad station has shown that 615 meter 4 liter cube of water have been taken from the spring in question from the beginning of July 15, which is the starting date of water transfer, until August 9. According to this estimation, garden owners are now entitled to take 1,322 piasters. The said amount has to be already paid or paid all together when the exact amount of sold water is determined; thus, for the negotiation and explanation of the matter, it is appropriate to relegate it to the Sanjak Administrative Council. The 7nd of Agustos (1)317 (20th of August 1901).
